Fugu14 – iOS 14 Jailbreak not installed

Fugu14 is an iOS 14 Jailbreak (incomplete), including untether (persistence), kernel exploit, kernel PAC bypass and PPL transfer. The CVE risk numbers are: CVE-2021-30740, CVE-2021-30768, CVE-2021-30769, CVE-2021-30770 and CVE-2021-30773.

Supported Devices / iOS versions

  • Fugu14 should support all arm64e devices (iPhone XS and new ones) on iOS 14.3 – 14.5.1.
  • Low version support (up to 14.2) can be added by arm / shared / ClosurePwn / Sources / ClosurePwn /
  • PwnClosure.swift and arm / shared / KernelExploit / Sources / KernelExploit / offsets.swift.
  • unc0ver v7.0.2 Release with Fugu14 iOS 14.4 – 14.5.1 support for A12 – A14 devices
  • arm64 devices are not supported because the Fugu14 App installation utility does not work on these devices.
  • However, in theory it is possible to add untether to them (e.g. with checkra1n).
  • Note that all of this code was written for arm64e directly, so some changes are needed to add arm64 support to exclusions.

Features

  • Kernel exploitation is very reliable (will not cause kernel shock) A simple TCP shell is available at port 1337

Restoration

So you have not read the warning part and your device is now in bootloop. Let’s hope you didn’t enable the quick reversal.
However, before updating your device to the latest iOS version, try the following first:

  1. Install recovery on your computer
  2. Connect your device via USB and turn on recovery mode
  3. Launch recovery -s on your computer, then enter the following instructions:
  • setenv boot-args no_untether
  • savev
  • restart
  • unc0ver v7.0.2 Release with Fugu14 iOS 14.4 – 14.5.1 support for A12 – A14 devices

4. Your device should now restart. If that doesn’t work, repeat the second step again, use recovery -s and enter the following instructions:

  • setenv boot-args untether_force_restore
  • savev
  • restart

5. The device will still not start? After that you will need to update it to the latest version unfortunately: /

Credits

Like most software, Fugu14 contains (available) code written by others.
I would therefore like to thank the people below for opening their source code:

  • Samuel Groß: SLOP method (as used for dyld exploit) and JavaScript Int64 (+ utils) library

Currently, re-uploading has copyright issues that I am trying to resolve ASAP. Obviously, most teams think the code is theirs so I don’t know what to do right now. I am writing this here and I hope no one from DMCA is with me.

  • Fugu14 also includes various header files from Apple.
