Not to be confused with the MacBook “MagSafe” chargers, the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 feature a built-in magnetic ring on the back. This can be used for a number of things, including wireless MagSafe Charger, battery packs, wallets, and more.
Although not designed for these apps, some of them work on Android devices. However, the magnetic connection is not nearly as strong as it is with the iPhone. You can buy special cases for some Samsung Galaxy phones, but we will show you an even easier way.
Warning: iPhones made specifically for use with these magnetic accessories, your Android phone would not. There is a risk that the magnets will not play properly with your device and cause some damage. This is not possible, but it is not possible.
What you need using iPhone MagSafe Charger for Android
For this to work, there are a few things you will need. The specific things you will need will depend on what type of MagSafe accessories you want to use.
One thing everyone will need is a simple metal ring on the back of their device. This gives the MagSafe Charger service something to hold on to. You can get a six pack for $ 10 from Amazon and simply download the film to attach to your phone.
Now, if you only want inexpensive accessories — like a wallet — the placement of this ring is not very important. Just place it in a place that feels comfortable in your hand. Hit the device and you are ready to go.
Using MagSafe Charger accessories, there are a few additional considerations. First and foremost, your phone needs wireless charging. Second, a metal ring needs to be placed where there are wireless charging coils. You can get that by simply moving the charger behind your device until it starts charging.
Why Does It Work?
You may be wondering how “special” chargers for iPhone can work with random Android devices. It is all because of universal charging standards.
MagSafe’s power utilities use a Qi charging standard — the same standard as Android devices that use wireless charging. It may seem like Apple is simply adding magnets to hold the chargers in place, but there is more going on behind the scenes.
IPhones connect to charging services via MagSafe connection. This tells the charger that it is connected to the iPhone and can charge at high speeds. So while any Qi charger can wirelessly charge your Android device, you will not get those high speeds.
Which MagSafe Chargers Can I Use?
So a metal ring is attached to the back of your phone, what now? As mentioned in the section above, you can make the most of any MagSafe service right now.
One big difference is the power accessories. Your Android device needs wireless charging if you want to use an Apple MagSafe charger or battery. After all, MagSafe is actually just a wireless charging magnet.
Otherwise, however, you may go unchecked with MagSafe accessories. Car seats, wallets, tripods, and more. Go to Amazon or Best Buy and check out “MagSafe resources.” The iPhone accessory ecosystem is very large, you should be able to find something cool.
One thing to keep in mind is that these accessories are designed for iPhones. Android devices come in all shapes and sizes, so they may not work well on all devices. Make sure you take measurements and consider the back of your phone.
