When we launched the Google One VPN for Android in the U.S., we wanted to give you an extra layer of online protection for your phone and peace of mind that your connection is more secure. Today, we share the latest VPN updates, which help bring protection to more people and make it even easier to use.
Bringing peace of mind to iOS users and many other countries
Today, we are starting to roll out VPN on iOS devices. Similar to Android, VPN will be available to Google One members through Premium programs (2 TB and above) through the Google One app on iOS. Also, members can share their VPN plan with up to five family members at no additional cost, so everyone can use the VPN, whether they use an Android or iOS phone.
And recently we expanded VPN in 10 other countries: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Ireland, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and Switzerland. And we will expand to more countries over time.
Making the Google One VPN even easier to use
You may have noticed that we have added features to the Android VPN that make it even easier to use:
- Disconnect Safe: Use the Internet only when the VPN is activated.
- App Bypass: Allow certain apps to use a standard connection instead of a VPN.
- Snooze: Turn off VPN temporarily.
Privacy and security are at the core of everything we do. Our systems have advanced security built-in to help ensure that no one uses a VPN to bind your online activity to your identity. Our clients’ libraries also have open sources, and our end-to-end systems are independently researched. Our VPN is fully certified from the Secure Things Alliance (ioXt) Internet and has passed all eight ioXt security policies.

The Google Store Awards give you Store credit for purchasing hardware on the Google Store. This is only available in the U.S., Canada, Australia, Germany and the United Kingdom. Pro Sessions has limited appointments available on a first-come, first-served basis. Google Photo editing features are only available for devices with at least 3 GB of RAM running Android 8.0 or iOS 14.0 and above.
