Apple’s MacBook lineup is high-end consumer devices, but can also be considered business notebook models, as they are favored by many companies or office workers, the sources said. The hot sales of the MacBook Pro, released in late 2021, continued into the first quarter of 2022, with higher-than-expected shipments, and the new MacBook Air in the second half of the year is expected to further increase sales momentum, the source added.

Display industry analyst Young tweeted last week that the new MacBook Air’s 13.6-inch display will be slightly larger than the current 13.3-inch display.

While some sources claim that the new MacBook Air will feature an M2 chip with an 8-core CPU and options for a 9- or 10-core GPU, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo expects the laptop to remain in place based on a series of forecasts he released in early March. It will be equipped with an M1 chip, possibly an improved version of the M1 chip.
